Christian NormandinOn Monday April 5th, 2010 Christian Normandin passed away at the age of 60.

He leaves behind his beloved daughter Malinalli, his sisters and brother Monic, Lise (Marcel), Pierre (Rio), his nieces and nephews, Frederique, Eric, Martine, Alexandre, Michelle and many relatives and friends.

The Memorial will be held at 1pm at Don Pedro.

The family will receive condoleances.....
In lieu of flowers, donation in his memory may be done to the charity of your choice.

The Costa Verde International School 3rd annual fundraiser was a great success raising $140,560 pesos for the scholarship program. Don Pedros hosted the event at their Brisa del Mar event center which packed in at least 150 people for the event. Culinary delights were prepared by St. Regis, Don Pedro's, Naef Cuisine, Cafe Des Artistes and Sayulita Cafe. The silent auction items were abundant and amazing, thanks to the many local artisans, stores and restaurants that donated.  read more »

International Field Of Professional Longboard & Stand-Up Paddle Surfers To Compete In 1st Annual Punta Sayulita Longboard & Stand-Up Paddle Classic

The 1st Annual Punta Sayulita Longboard & Stand-Up Paddle Classic (“the Classic”) is set to take place on April 17-18 in beautiful Sayulita, Mexico. The international field of professional surfers from the United States and Mexico is led by Honorary Ambassadors James Pribram of Laguna Beach, CA, renowned Mexican big wave surfer, Carlos “Coco” Nogales of Puerto Escondido and Mexico’s current national longboard champion, Patricio Gonzalez of Sayulita. The field will be limited to 30 competitors made up of both professional invitees and amateurs competing in various age group divisions as well as in the “open” contest for the longboard and stand-up paddle surfing categories.  read more »

This past weekend in Puerto Vallarta there was a one half marathon and a 5k race. Sunday morning some 1500 people gathered at 6:00 am Puerto Vallarta the athletic center in Puerto Vallarta to take over the streets.  read more »

Sayulita fish taco and tequila bar is now open after 2 months vacation. I met up with Mark on Saturday at the restaurant and being his true self, brought out 4 bottles of tequila which Gabby, Mark, myself and this charming lady from Santa Barbara, California Jennifer Lawrence sat down and started drinking. Right away, I knew this was going to be a day to remember. Jennifer and Mark met in Guadalajara at the World Tequila conference and became friends instantly.  read more »

Great fundraiser on benefit of the computers lab of the secondary school in Sayulita.

Monday, March the 9th, on La Fiesta Restaurant, at 5 pm the Public Secondary School of Sayulita will hold a Mexican Night to raise money in order to fix the computers at the Computer Lab. Teachers, parents and students are organizing this event with big compromise. All the collected funds will help to fix or buy computers to teach students how important is technology in our era.

Come and help this school to improve education in our town. With the purchase of your ticket you will get free dinner and three complimentary drinks. The menu includes: pozole, enchiladas, sopes, tamales, chiles rellenos, rice, beans and guacamole, beer, margaritas and the traditional aguas frescas. Sayulita Days began more than 50 years ago, it was created by the commissioner of the village and the Ejido to celebrate the birth of Sayulita. In the beginning it was known at the Feast of the Ejido and offering of food for all it’s people. This began on the 16th of February and turned into a 8 day event that last being Flag Day.

In the beginning the feast was held on the beach where people camped and played for the entire time. Bands played traditional songs of the region all day and all night.Time has changed the location of the celebration which is now held in the plaza and the circus comes to the village and sets up at the baseball field.  read more »
