Marsara

Sara Briner (from Switzerland) and Mario Rodriguez (from Mexico City) started off traveling around Mexico in 2004 selling their handcrafted jewelry on the streets in various cities and villages around the country. In 2005 they first came to Sayulita and after 4 months of selling at the market they decided to open their own proper jewelry shop and make Sayulita their home. They did a 5 months course in Taxco, Guerrero at the UNAM, Sara in Silversmithing and Mario in "Lost Wax". By the end of 2005 they opened their first shop at Calle Jose Mariscal #27. In May 2008 they moved to the present location at Av. Revolucion #57.

Marsara is known for their fine, one-of-a kind jewelry made with quality gems and stones from Mexico (Amber, Obsidian, Fire Opals, Jade, Imperial Jasper, Fossil Stone, Turquoise), and from all over the world (Larimar, Sapphire, Ruby, Prehnite, Labradorite, Moldavite and many more).

Apart from their one-of-a-kind jewelry they proudly exhibit art work from various artists (Cuca Vaca, Homero Ruiz, Ken Brandon, Bonnie Metzger, Rodrigo, Antonella Chamorros, Gloria Navarra).

They also offer textiles from Guatemala such as bed spreads, table runners, cushion covers, skirts, shirts etc. all with the wonderful Guatemalan colours and designs. New in there collection are handpainted and airbrushed T-shirts with Sayulita designs. Welcome!

Apart from running their boutique jewelry store, Mario is involved as director and teacher of the "Casa Campesina, Multicultural".
