Calle Constitución Block Party
On February 5, 1917, the Mexican Constitution was approved by the Mexican Constitutional Congress, with Venustiano Carranza serving as the first president under its terms. Since then, Día de la Constitución, or Mexican Constitution Day, has been a national holiday that is commemorated on February 5th.
Every year, this historic occasion is recognized throughout the Republic of Mexico with traditional festivals and celebrations, but here in Puerto Vallarta, several local businesses are "taking it to the street."
Several Calle Constitución merchants, including Banderas Bay Trading Company, Martha's Boutique, Puerco Azul Art Gallery, Colleción La Bohemia, Ambiance by Marcia, Jades Maya and Sun Silver, have decided to make the most of the holiday by hosting a collective block party on February 5th from 6 to 10 pm.
There will be refreshments, music and plenty of great items to check out. It should be lots of fun, a chance to meet new people and a great way to visit some of the best places to shop on the south side of Puerto Vallarta that you may never have experienced before.
So, if you find yourself on PV's south side on February 5th between 6 and 10 pm, be sure to wander over to Calle Constitución to enjoy the festive open house atmosphere provided by these shops.
