A Tribute to Sadie Lady:
Wednesday at one forty-two, Sadie Lady took her last breath from this world and grew her wings shortly after. Sadie was fourteen years of age, yes she was old for a dog, which is what I would think in human years would be ninety-eight. Whatever the years may mean she has been a close friend to me all this time. As most can attest to when you are with someone for longer than you can remember, one knows the other better than they know themselves.
Sadie, had been with me through my travels, life changes and adventures and always accepted my decisions with love, loyalty and the I am with you attitude. She had those puppy eyes that just melted anyone who met her, even other dogs seemed to melt and even get excited to be in her presence.
She, climbed mountains, walked beaches all over the world, she visited huge cities, swam in fresh water lakes. Sadie was always playful, happy and full of life.
In 2008 the Vet in Puerto Vallarta, told me that Sadie had breast cancer and that she should be put down, as per our usual together time, we went for a walk on the beach and had our sharing time, we decided or she decided and I accepted she wasn’t ready to lay down and pass from this world. She got better, she ran more, played more and just seemed to love more. As I reflect on this today, maybe it was because I gave her more attention knowing our time was coming to a close or maybe she knew and just wanted to enjoy each day to its fullest.
We all love, we are human, today is a very painful day for me, however it is a day to give thanks for such a long friendship with mans best friend. Someone once said, it’s not the burden of the one who leaves this world for they have found their peace, the burden is left to the ones who love and miss them.
Today, is my day to say goodbye and thank you for your companionship and so many happy years, you are loved and you are missed!
This I ask of all of you reading this, give the one’s you love, the one’s you care deeply about a long hug and a conversation about how much you are grateful to them for being in your life and the blessings you have received because of there presence.
