Villa del Oso

By editor - Posted on 20 August 2009

Villa del Oso, is a luxurious retreat for the mind, body and spirit. Located on a stretch of beautiful sandy beach directly on the Pacific Ocean, Villa del Oso merges down the beach with a stretch of famous verdant jungle at the edge of the sand, set against the majestic rise of the foot of the Sierra de Vallejo mountain range.

Villa del Oso provides a total of seven suites, each with private bath (three of which are spa-suites), that combine with elegant original art-laden living spaces to create a luxurious harmony and continued delight during your stay. There are two structures on the property. The main house is referred to as Villa del Oso and the two suite bungalow behind the main house is called Casa Osita. If the houses are rented separately, Casa Osito will not have access to pool.

Lush tropical gardens and a winding drive connect Casa Osito with the main house complex of Villa del Oso. A fitting marble entry framed by massive hand-forged and formed native ironwork is graced by niches containing stone statuary of ancient native gods which provides a splendid transition to a magnificent spiral staircase and a choice of ocean fronting levels of delightful living and entertaining spaces.
A marble semi-circle bar separates several cozy conversation areas, formal dining room, and social gathering and mixing spaces from a fully equipped gourmet kitchen that is replete with such delights as a professional pizza oven, and ice cream maker.

A generous bounty of recorded music, books and videos is provided for moments of enrichment, reflection and enjoyment in conjunction with the Villa del Oso entertainment system that features VHS/DVD video playback, SKY cable service, 100 load CD player, cassette tape audio playback as well as AM/FM tuner and WiFi system throughout the villa.

VILLA DEL OSO SUITES:

Fountain Garden Suite: A seductively intimate bedroom featuring a hand-formed illuminated vaulted ceiling, marble bath and a romantically draped queen-sized bed. Bi-fold doors open onto a private garden with hand-carved stone fountain and accents.
Pool Suite: Dramatic illuminated domed ceiling presides over a circular haven of finely finished marble containing a canopied king-sized bed that directly opens to the elegant adjacent outdoor living area, heated infinity pool and ocean-view Jacuzzi.

Oceanside Suite: Soaring ceiling heights accented by full windowed floor to eve doors contain a palatial space for an elegant nightly repose featuring a canopied king-sized bed resting on finished marble floors stretching throughout the suite and into the adjacent private bath which is luxuriously appointed with Jacuzzi, bidet, twin hand-carved marble sinks and romantic natural lighted shower for two.

Ocean Terrace Suite #1: French doors open to the sounds and sights of the ocean for a restful evening serenade. Twin ceiling fans and spacious setting areas provide an area for relaxing with a favorite book or just savoring the outside gardens. A full marble finished bathroom completes the offering.

Ocean Terrace Suite #2: French doors lead directly from an adjacent outdoor palapa dome covering an intimate dining and conversation area. Ample closet space and a full marble finish bathroom add to the elegance. Rooftop gardens surround the spacious marble decks with carefully planned gathering sites.

Starlight Patio: The absence of light pollution and a massive cantera marble deck surface make a perfect place for either serious star-gazing or informal socializing. You will find the velvet black sky backdrop a perfect stage from which you can pick out your favorite constellations and see the rings of Saturn with the aid of the house telescope.

CASA OSITA
The “little jewel” of the property is Casa Osita that provides a magnificent view of the ocean from each seafront portal. With its commanding height above terrain, Casa Osita receives a continual refreshing sea breeze accented by the soothing sound of the nearby surf.

Easily accessed from the rustic cobblestone street and secure off-street parking area, Casa Osita is a magnificent extension of space to the main house or a beautifully efficient self-contained delight in and of itself. Main entrance into Casa Osita is through two hand-hewn wooden doors into the Grand Hall with its soaring vaulted ceiling and accent archways perfectly frame the magic combination of deep blue sky, ocean and lush balcony gardens.

The “Garden Spa Suite”—A full frontal terrace breezes past the rare, beautiful plantings at the end of the Grand Hall and tags along the full patio width of the “French Connection”, an overlook patio terrace which connects the entertaining and dining space of Casa Osita with the secluded paths that wind through lush multi-levels of exotic tropical plantings and swaying palms of the nearby gardens. Like the 2nd floor “Tree House Spa Suite”, your very own private Jacuzzi and romantic super-size outdoor shower are only steps away. A private gate connects you to the exotic ground level gardens and beach access.
The “Tree House Spa Suite”—Lurking directly outside the patio leading from your private Jucuzzi and super-size outdoor shower is one of nature’s symbiotic wonders known as a “Strangler Tree.” However fearsome the name sounds, you shouldn’t be afraid. It is merely a beautiful method of coexistence between a host palm tree at the core and an outer sheath of a member of the fig tree family. It got its start several decades ago when a bird transported an infant seed and deposited it in the vortex of the palm. Time, sunshine and abundant rainfall took care of the rest. Today both verdant forms of the palm fond and clusters of the fig leaf add shade and a bit of mystery to your perch above paradise.
